Colorguard
Colorguard is a competitive team sport that performs along with the marching band in the Fall semester. They use colorful flags, rifles, sabers, props, and dance choreography to interpret the musical score of the field show and add “Color”. The Colorguard team performs and competes with the marching band at football games, field show tournaments, parades, and the end of the season GOLD Shows.
Winterguard
During the the winter and spring months, GOLD's talented Colorguard participates in a rigorous season all their own called Winterguard. They compete against other guard groups from schools throughout Southern California. Winterguard performs and competes with original choreographed routines to recorded music inside a gymnasium. All are invited to support and see their awe-inspiring performances at their tournaments. Watch the GOLD calendar for details!
Students interested in joining Westview's colorguard will participate in workshops and auditions in May/early June. If you have further questions about joining please contact us at westviewcgstaff@gmail.com. In addition, participation in GOLD camp the week prior to the start of school is mandatory. Check the website in early-mid June for more information about these events.
